MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Shirley M. Jost was called to her eternal reward on February 9, 2013, at the age of 77; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Shirley M. Jost was an active and vital member of her community. The beloved wife of the late Thomas; loving mother of Timothy (Caron) Schmidt, Susan (Jim) Simmons and the late Theodore Schmidt; dear grandmother of Eric, Matthew, Nicholas and Amy Schmidt and Katie, Steven and Thomas Simmons; fond sister of Richard (Maryann) Reiss Sr., the late Paul (Elfriede) Reiss and the late Helen (Chuck) Howard; cherished Aunt and Great-Aunt to many, Shirley Jost leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Shirley had been employed at Ircon Incorporated, Square D, for over twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, Shirley Jost will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirteenth day of March 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Shirley Jost and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
