MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Matthew J. Bozek, on March 7, 2015, at the age of twenty-six; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 1,1988 Matthew was the beloved son of Lisa Dolan; doting father of Ani Bozek; devoted grandson of Lill Curth; loving brother of Cassaundra Dolan; fond nephew of Kim (Michael) Bankes, Okey Belcher, Laura Curth, Ed (Jennifer) Curth, James (Kathy) Curth and Stan Bozek; and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Matthew leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Matthew was a tough and talented water polo player at St. Patrick High School and always gave his best. Throughout his life, Matthew touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Matthew's death leaves us all with profound sense of loss and tragedy. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him. Despite our sorrow, we continue to preserve and glorify Matthew's life; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fifteenth day of April, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Matthew J. Bozek and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Matthew J. Bozek.
