CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO FATHER JOHN DONOHUE, FATHER JOSEPH TAYLOR AND FATHER MICHAEL CRONIN ON THEIR ANNIVERSARY OF ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD
WHEREAS, On Sunday, April 28, 2013, Saint Edward Parish will come together to commemorate the ordination anniversary of Father John Donohue, Father Joseph Taylor and Father Michael Cronin; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by Alderman Margaret Laurino; and
WHEREAS, Father Donohue, Father Taylor and Father Cronin were ordained to serve the spiritual needs of the people of the Archdiocese of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Father Donohue was ordained May 8, 1948 and is celebrating 65 years; is now Pastoral Emeritus of the Saint Edward Parish of Chicago, where he served as Pastor from 1981 to 1992; and
WHEREAS, Father Taylor was ordained May 9, 1953 and is celebrating 60 years; is now Senior Priest of Saint Edward Parish where he has served for 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Father "Mike" as he is known around the parish, was ordained May 9, 1973 and is celebrating 40 years; serves as the current Pastor of Saint Edward Church; and
WHEREAS, These celebrants have served the community in a variety of positions including associate pastor, teacher, pastor of several parishes, airport chaplain, hospital chaplain as well as counselor , advisor , director or chaplain for the number of programs and committees which benefit the spiritual welfare of the people of Chicago.
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eighth day of May, 2013, do hereby congratulate Father Donohue, Father Taylor, Father Cronin on their ordination anniversaries and that on behalf of all the citizens ofthe City ofChicago we do hereby express our appreciation and heartfelt thans for you dedication and personal sacrifice, and;
