RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, On October 01, 2016, Klub Pojawian in Chicago will be celebrating its' 100th year Anniversary; and,
WHEREAS, Klub Pojawian in Chicago is a non for profit social club affiliated with the Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA. Over the past 100 years the club's members have been part of the diverse cultural fabric of the City of Chicago, providing financial and active support for Chicagoland's Polish Community; and,

WHEREAS, Klub Pojawian was originally founded by pojawie's immigrants in 1916 as Towarzystwo Rantunkowe Pojawie I Zaborow. It was founded with the intent to help one another currently residing in Chicago, those which would immigrate to the city and loved ones left behind in Poland; and,

WHEREAS, During and after World War I and World War II, Klub Pojawian donated funds raised through various events to help in the reconstruction and piecing together of lives ravaged by war. It helped provide basic needs to citizens of Pojawie such as water, electricity, gas and food. The club founded schools, a fire station and churches which to this day are an integral part of Pojawie, Poland's community; and,
WHEREAS, As it grew, Klub Pojawian extended its civic service by committing itself to preserving Polish traditions, history and culture in the Chicagoland area. Through participation in social activities and community events such as the donation of funds for the purchase of the Alliance of Polish Clubs building, annual participation in the Polish May 3rd Constitution Day Parade, and the raising of funds for the Katyn and Smolensk memorials; and,

WHEREAS, Klub Pojawian in Chicago is proud of all their achievements these past one hundred years. It has been a valuable link of communication between the citizens of Pojawie and Pojawie's immigrants in the city of Chicago and will continue to be so; and now therefore,
