ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Chapter 2-156 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting a new section 2-156-145, as follows:
2-156-145 Solicitation or acceptance by appointed members of committees, commissions, and boards.
No mayoral appointee serving on any committee, commission, board, or similar body shall knowingly solicit or accept any political contribution, either directly or through a political fundraising committee that benefits the appointee, during the appointee's term.
This section shall not apply to an appointed alderman with regard to their service on a City Council committee, or to a mayoral appointee serving on any committee, commission, board, or similar body who is subject to the Local Government Employees Political Rights Act, 50 ILCS 135/1, etseq.


SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
