MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Anthony D. Laurino, on August 29, 2015, at the age of sixty-three; and

 

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, This dedicated son of the late Anthony "Doc" and the late Elizabeth "Sophie" was born on September 7, 1951. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis M., nee Zelms; loving father of Gabriella (Steven) Schar; loving Papa of Nathan Schar; cherished brother of Pat Armenta; dear brother in law of Mary (John) Lopez and Robert Zelms; loving uncle and dear cousin of many, including the Honorable Alderman Margaret Laurino, the Honorable John C. D'Amico and the Honorable William J. Laurino; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, including his loyal companion Cagney. Anthony leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and

 

WHEREAS, Anthony, a faithful parishioner of Queen of All Saints Basilica, dedicated member of the 39' Ward Regular Democratic Organization, and longtime Chicago Water Department employee was an active and vital member of his community. He truly cherished his family, extended family and friends, touching the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore,

 

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-fourth day of September, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Anthony D. Laurino and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

 

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anthony D. Laurino as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
