RESOLUTION IN TRIBUTE TO THE INSTITUTE OF POSITIVE EDUCATION ON THEIR 45th ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the Chicago City Council is hereby informed of the Institute of Positive Education's Forty-fifth Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this joyous occasion by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics; and
WHEREAS, Long before the African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child", was popularized by members of our society, the Institute of Positive Education embarked on a mission to uplift the minds of children, and has been steadfast for 45 years; and
WHEREAS, The Institute of Positive Education has inspired minds and restored souls with invaluable programs in sports, the arts and our heritage as a people. The achievements have come without much public fanfare or accolades. Endurance is the reward and a testament to a sincere vision and genuine heart; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City are cognizant of the importance of our outstanding educational institutions and leaders; now therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eighth day of October 2014, A.D., do hereby join in the tribute to the Institute of Positive Education and do hereby express our congratulations and appreciation for forty-five years of distinguished service to the community; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the Institute of Positive Education.
