RESOLUTION FOR THE KIMBROUGH'S 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

WHEREAS, Mr. James W. Kimbrough and Mrs. Allene Kimbrough are celebrating their 50^th wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been notified of the Kimbrough's milestone by the Honorable Michael Scott, Jr., Alderman ofthe 24^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, The Kimbroughs were both born and raised in Mississippi, James in McCool and Allene in Starkville; and

WHEREAS, They met in Chicago after their families relocated. They are both graduates of Malcolm X College. James and Allene were married on July 16, 1967. They had five children: Lucree, Aaron (deceased), Rev. Jeanifer, Leslie (deceased) and Chris; and

WHEREAS, James W. Kimbrough owned and operated a housing company for more than forty years. Allene Kimbrough worked in various hospitals as a respiratory therapist for more than thirty years. They have lived all their adult lives on the West Side of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, There will be a celebration of the Kimbrough's 50^th wedding anniversary on July 15, 2017, at the Bolingbrook Golf Club; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-eighty day of June, 2017, do hereby express our congratulations and best wishes to James W. Kimbrough and Allene Kimbrough on the occasion of their 50^th wedding anniversary.

Be It Further Resolved, That suitable copies of this resolution be prepared and presented to James W. Kimbrough and Allene Kimbrough as a sign of our affection and admiration.
