RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Starr Valentino created Do Something Good for Your Neighbor Day so that millions of Chicagoans would have an occasion to celebrate spreading love and kindness to one another; and
WHEREAS, Do Something Good for Your Neighbor Day is a day-long celebration, demonstrated through random acts of kindness and love for others; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of this auspicious occasion by the Honorable Walter Burnett, Alderman of the 27th Ward; and
WHEREAS, The mission of Do Something Good for Your Neighbor Day is to bring together residents of the City of Chicago, from all ages, cultures, religions and economic backgrounds; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-ninth day of March, 2017, do hereby declare that Tuesday, May 15, 2017, shall be officially recognized as Do Something Good for Your Neighbor Day throughout Chicago.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution are presented to Starr Valentino as a sign of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
