WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Dorothy M. Carvatta, nee Altieri on November 5, 2013, at the age of eight-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on August 23, 1928, Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Roy J.; loving mother of Donita (Brian) Bozek, Debbie and Roy, Jr. (Stacey) Carvatta; cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Roy III (Kathie), Christina, Joey, Ana, Michael, Nina; great-grandmother of Daniela. Dorothy leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy was an active and vital member of her community who touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, generosity, heart and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-sixth day of November, 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Dorothy M. Carvatta and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy M. Carvatta as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
