RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The University of Chicago will bestow the Diversity Leadership Award upon Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks during the Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. President's Reception on Monday, January 9, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this honor by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks serves as the Director of Community Partnerships where he has worked, to expand collaborations between the University of Chicago and its surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks coordinates with university students who wish to work as interns and community groups that receive their services; and
WHEREAS, Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks also facilitates access to university facilities for local youth and serves oh the boards of, area committees and not-for-profit organizations; and
WHEREAS, Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks manages the university's work on behalf of the Chicago Yputh Leadership Academy which he established with the 3rd District of the Chicago Police Department in 2009; and
WHEREAS, Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks is a former Deputy Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department who joined the University of Chicago in 1989; and *
WHEREAS, Before assuming his present duties, Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks served for 20' years as the head of the university's police department; and
WHEREAS, Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks holds a master's degree in public administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourteenth day of December, 2016, do hereby congratulate Rudolph "Rudy" Nimocks on receiving this prestigious honor and do hereby express our warmest and best wishes for his continued success; and
