MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Joseph Luke Cunniff, born on July 5, 1915, was called by God to his eternal reward on October 23, 2012, at the age of 97; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Luke Cunniff was an active and vital member of his community. The beloved husband of Mary (nee Reeser); loving father of Patricia (Gerald) Nora, Joseph Jr., Robert, William, David and Elizabeth Cunniff; devoted grandfather of Gerald (Christina), Thomas, Mary Elizabeth and John Nora; treasured great-grandather of Gerald, Luke and Anna Nora, Joseph Luke Cunniff leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Luke Cunniff will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fifteenth day of November 2012, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Joseph Luke Cunniff and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
