MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR ARCHBISHOP LUCIUS HALL
WHEREAS; God in His infinite wisdom, has called Archbishop Lucius Hall, an exceptional Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, Shepherd, Counselor, Advisor; and
WHEREAS, this august body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Stephanie D. Coleman, Alderman of the 16th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Archbishop Hall began his religious journey under the inspiration pf Rev. Clarence H. Cobbs, Founder and Pastor of the historic First Church of Deliverance, who instilled his spiritual, social and civic duties to the community; and
WHEREAS, he.served ire every capacity of the church for 38 years, including President of the Youth & Young Adults, InterriationalYouth Department and Religious Announcers Conference of Chicago & vicinity; as a teenage he became the radio announcer and as a young man in 1967 he became Producer and Host of the "Rock of Ages Gospel Hour" and Channel 26 WCIU; and
WHEREAS, he served with an outstanding military record in the United States Army as a Military Police. Upon honorable discharge he began his professional career as a clerk for the Veterans Administration and advanced to a 30-year record to Section Chief; and
WHEREAS', he was licensed to preach in 1979 and organized the First Church of Love and Faith in 1980; in July the church moved to their present location at 2140 West 79th Street; and
WHEREAS, in 1979 he co-founded the Broadcast Ministers Alliance where in 1998 he became Producer and Host of the Alliance's Gable TV Program; and
WHEREAS, in 1981 he founded me First Spiritual Churches of Truth, Inc., an international organization with churches throughout the United States and West Africa; and
WHEREAS, in 1982 he began one of the first food pantries in the Auburn-Gresham community; and in 1983 became Executive Director of the First Church of Love and Faith Head Start Program; and
WHEREAS, from 1990 to 2010 he was an Executive Director of Chicago Gospel Fest; and
