WH£R£ftS, Honey Jacobs Skinner is retiring from her position as a Strategic Advisor and Consultant to the Public Policy Committee of Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center (Medical Center) on December 31, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Honey has served with remarkable effectiveness, great distinction and honor; and
WHEREAS, She has been an indefatigable advocate for the Medical Center and for the health and well-being of children; and
WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has fought tirelessly to protect access to care for all children, including those who lack resources, those insured by Medicaid, those that are immigrants, and children with medical complexity; and
WHEREAS, Honey has staunchly advocated in support of the teaching, research, clinical, and advocacy pillars of the Medical Center; and
WHEREAS, She has had a direct and positive impact on the health and well being of Illinois children by virtue of her advocacy efforts on behalf of the Medical Center to prevent HIV/AIDS, obesity, injury, violence, and access to tobacco; to promote immunizations, access to mentl health services, access to early intervention, appropriate use of antibiotics to prevent antibiotic resistance; and to improve the lives of children affected by food allergy and anaphylaxis; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-eigth day of October, 2015 do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Honey Jacobs Skinner on the occasion of her retirement and express our gratitude for her contributions and service; and
