RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 68; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards was a widely admired suburban elected official and a passionate booster for the community of Brookfield; and
WHEREAS, Born in Berwyn and raised in Brookfield, the Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards was the daughter of the late Anna and Michael, the postmaster of Brookfield; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards graduated from Gross School and Riverside Brookfield High School for which she organized many reunions and local events; and
WHEREAS, After working a number of jobs, the Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards joined the staff of the Village of Brookfield in 1994; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards rose to become Recreation Director, a role in which she developed special programs for seniors worked with children and adults of all ages; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards ably served as a Village Trustee from 2005 to 2013 and was elected Clerk in 2013; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her government career, the Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards always encouraged others to move to Brookfield and loved its people, location and amenities; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To her son, Hershyl "Mike", her brother, Michael, and her sister, Gloria, the Honorable Catherine Colgrass-Edwards imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
