MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF LIEUTENANT ALDO SIMIONI
WHEREAS, On August 26, 2021, Chicago Fire Department Engine Company 89 and Truck 56, will hold a Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony commemorating the members of their house who have fallen in the line of duty; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of the Engine 89 and Truck 56 Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony by the honorable Samantha Nugent, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, The Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony will commemorate Lieutenant Aldo Simioni; and
WHEREAS, Aldo Simioni began his time with the Chicago Fire Department on April 1, 1967, and was assigned to Engine 111, Engine 20, and Truck 58; and
WHEREAS, In September 1980, Aldo was promoted to Engineer and was assigned to 3rd District Relief; and
WHEREAS, In June 1984, Aldo was promoted to Lieutenant, and served with the Fire Prevention Bureau and 3rd District Relief; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Simioni was assigned to Engine 89 in November 1988; and
WHEREAS, On February 5, 1989, Lieutenant Simioni suffered a heart attack in quarters and passed away at the age of 49; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Simioni was survived by his wife, Jean; his daughters, Deanna, Kristine, and Margaret; one sister; three brothers; and five grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, The leaders ofthe City of Chicago would like to recognize the great debt owed to our public servants, and extend our gratitude to Lieutenant Simioni for his service to the City; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fourteenth day of October, 2021, do hereby honor Lieutenant Aldo Simioni's sacrifice and thank him for his dedicated service; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Chicago Fire Department Engine 89 and Truck 56, in memory of Lieutenant Aldo Simioni, and as a sign of our honor and respect.
