WHEREAS, On Monday, April 8, 2013, the Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom called Erma Elizabeth Zanona to her eternal journey; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman of the 18th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Erma was born on September 23, 1918 in Cockerill, Kansas. She was born to the union of Dominick Zanona and Antonia Collesel Zanona. She had seven sisters; Jennie Zanona Nardelli, Mary Zanona Butler, Catherine Zanona, Alveria Zanona Frantz, Edythe Zanona Shanta, Inez Zanona Puckoris, and Nadine Zanona Roberts. Several brothers and sisters died in infancy. She loved God and as a good Catholic she frequently attended mass at St. Peter's Church in Downtown; and
WHEREAS, Erma worked for many years at Lever Brothers making Pepsodent toothpaste. She was hired on March 19, 1938 and retired on September 30, 1983. Erma was very independent and never asked anyone for anything. She had a wonderful love for her family and especially for her dear father. She loved to dance she loved animals and always put God first; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this fifteenth day of January 2014 A.D., do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Erma Elizabeth Zanona and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Erma Elizabeth Zanona.
