CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO SHMUEL EHRMAN ON HIS BAR MITZVA
WHEREAS, On Saturday, August 3, 2013, family and friends gathered together to celebrate the Bar Mitzva of Shmuel Shabbos Parsha Re'eh Ehrman; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this special occasion by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Shmuel's parents Rabbi and Mrs. Yitzchok Ehrman, honored grandparents Rabbi and Mrs. Avroham Ehrman and Rabbi and Mrs. Eli Lapa, honored great-grandparents Mrs. Beverly Gross, Mrs. Sheila Lapa and Mr. Morris Kaplan gathered at 8:00 a.m. at Telshe Yeshiva in Chicago with numerous invited guests for Shmuel's Davening; and
WHEREAS, Friends and family joined Shmuel with heartfelt joy and gratitude to Hashem at a reception celebrating Shmuel's Bar Mitzva at the Hillel Roberts Simcha Hall; and
WHEREAS, Children are encouraged to observe the commandments and to do as much as possible to learn the obligations they will have as adults. At the age of thirteen, boys become obligated to observe the commandments. The Bar Mitzva ceremony formally and publicly marks the assumption of that obligation, along with the corresponding right to take part in leading religious services, to count in a minyan (the minimum number of people needed to perform certain parts of religious services to form binding contracts, to testify before religious courts and to marry; now, therefore;
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of Chicago gathered here this eleventh day of September 2013, do hereby congratulate Shmuel Ehrman on his Bar Mitzva and extend our best wishes for continuing success; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Shmuel Ehrman.
