MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It was with great sadness that members of this chamber learned of the death of Anthony V. DeFrancisco; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Margaret Laurino; and
WHEREAS, Anthony's death leaves us all with a profound sense of loss and tragedy, especially his loving family, parents Sonja (Scott) Hartgrove and Jeffrey DeFrancisco, sister Nicole DeFrancisco, and many devoted friends, family members and neighbors. Despite our sorrow, we continue to preserve and glorify Anthony's life; and
WHEREAS, As a proud Marine, Anthony DeFrancisco served his country with dignity and honor, and was studying for his Masters in Social Work and Psychology at Roosevelt University; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Anthony touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, his generosity, his heart, and his spirit. Anthony will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twelfth day of December 2012, do hereby commemorate Anthony DeFrancisco and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anthony V. DeFrancisco as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
