RESOLUTION HONORING THE DEATH OF WILLIAM F. COLLINS

WHEREAS, William F. Collins had passed away on January 12, 2016, at the age of 81; and

 

WHEREAS, William F. Collins is the beloved husband of Betty (nee Edwards), and the loving father of Linda (the late Charles) Bruen, Julie (Bill) Sujak, Kathy O'Marrah, Sean, CFD (Anja), Debbie (Rich) La Page, and the fond grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 4; and

 

WHEREAS, William F. Collins was preceded in death by his loving parent, e Allan and Madeline Collins, and his brother Allan, Hugh, and Ron; and

 

WHEREAS, He was a lifelong resident ofthe 11th Ward Canaryville community, where was a proud member of the Stock Yards Kilty Band and a great supporter of the Canaryville Veterans Association and the Canaryville Vetereans Riders Association; and

 

WHEREAS, William was also the past Grand Knight ofthe Madonna Knights of Columbus Council No. 1135, and was a lifelong member parishioner and supporter of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church; and

 

WHEREAS, William had retired from the City of Chicago's Department of Water and Sewers after many years of service; and

 

WHEREAS, William will be truly missed by his many family members, friends, neighbors, and members ofthe Canaryville community, who had cherished his contribution to those whose lives he had touched; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the Members ofthe City Council of the City of Chicago, do hereby mourn the passing of William F. Collins, a fine contributor to the quality of life in the 11th Ward community; and that we extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be made available to the family of William F. Collins.
