City Council October 14th, 2021
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, John J. Kappel Sr has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 64 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 1,1 th Ward; and
WHEREAS, John J. Kappel Sr., Loving,husband of Patricia nee Scorza; cherished father of Tricia (Steven) Mazur, Candace (Jeremy) Clatworthy and John Kappel Jr.; loving Papa of Kaitlyn, Steven and Nicholas Mazur and Giavanna, Dominic and Sophia Clatworthy; beloved son of Margaret and the late Raymond Kappel Sr.; brother of Raymond (Angel) Kappel Jr. and William (Denise) Kappel; son-in-law of the late Fred and Christine Scorza; brother-in-law of Mary Louise Scorza, the late Elaine and Frank Scorza; uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews; dear cousin and friend to many; and
WHEREAS, John was a loyal employee ofthe City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation and a proud Local 1001 member; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared John to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this fourteenth of October 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of John J. Kappel Sr and extend to* his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
