RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Regina S. Fraser has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 73; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of the Edgewater community, Regina S. Fraser was the co-host of the public television travel series, "Grannies on Safari", and the loving wife for 34 years of the Reverend Lieutenant Colonel Thomas E. (USAF-ret.); and
WHEREAS, Regina S. Fraser was the loving mother of Helena, the devoted stepmother of Melissa, Steven and David and the grandmother of seven to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Regina S. Fraser was the dear sister of Helen, Rex and Paul; and
WHEREAS, "Grannies on Safari" was syndicated nationally in 2000 and crisscrossed the globe featuring the adventures of Regina S. Fraser and her co-host Pat Johnson; and
WHEREAS, Before becoming a well-known figure on public television, Regina S. Fraser worked for 31 years as an executive at United Airlines where she retired in 2000 as Director of Promotions; and
WHEREAS, Regina S. Fraser was born in Los Angeles, California on December 8, 1942 to jazz cornetist Reginald "Rex" Stewart and Marguerita Elizabeth Slaughter; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Regina S. Fraser serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Regina S. Fraser was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Regina S. Fraser imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-second day of June, 2016, do hereby commemorate Regina S. Fraser for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
