MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Sister M. Seraphinia Gacek, C.S.S.F, on January 4, 20143, at the age of eighty-five; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Sister M. Seraphinia Gacek, C.S.S.F., was the beloved daughter of the late John and Anna; loving sister of Joseph; fond aunt of Ricky; dear cousin of many; and

WHEREAS, Sister Seraphinia who leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love was a beloved member of the Felician Sisters Community for sixty-seven years; and

WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community Sister Seraphinia will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth day of January 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Sister M. Seraphinia Cacek, C.S.S.F. and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sister M. Seraphinia Gacek, C.S.S.F. as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
