CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO EILEEN OTOOLE ON HER RETIREMENT AS PRINCIPAL OF ALBANY PARK MULTICULTURAL ACADEMY

WHEREAS, Eileen OToole is retiring as Principal of Albany Park Multicultural Academy;
and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Eileen OToole began her career with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from the University of Illinois, a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Northeastern Illinois University, and continued her education with the Leadership Academy and Urban Network for Chicago at Northwestern University; and

WHEREAS, Eileen started teaching Physical Education, Science, Language Arts and Computers in 1980 at Wolcott Elementary School in Thorton, Illinois. Relocating to Chicago in 1990 she became Assistant Principal/International Baccalaureate MYP Coordinator, Administrative Team Leader and Science Curriculum Chair at the Michele Clark Magnet High School. In July of 2005 Eileen became LAUNCH Principal at Reinberg School/Walter Peyton Prep High School. Then in May of 2006, Eileen became the Principal of Albany Park Multicultural Academy; and

WHEREAS, Listed among Eileen's accomplishments are: Golden Apple Nominee, 1933; Structure (SAS) DePaul University School of Education, 1995; Outstanding Teacher for Implementation of the School Achievement; Structure (SAS) DePaul University School of Education 1995 and Golden Apple Nominee 1993, as well as memberships in the National Middle School Association and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great city of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed to our educators; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this sixteenth day of October 2013, do hereby express our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Eileen OToole as she retires ...
