WHEREAS, Edward J. Filarski has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to his eternal reward; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Edward J. Filarski, WWII Army Vet. Beloved husband of Loretta, nee Fron; loving father of James (Deborah), Thomas (Suzanne) and Richard (Jean); cherished grandfather of Dana, Ryan (Victoria), Timothy, Christine, Carolyn, Jake, Scott and Erica; dearest brother of Stephanie (the late Roy) Wahnert and preceded by his other siblings Mitchell, Bruno and Jean; uncle and great-uncle of many; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Edward J. Filarski serve as an example to all; who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends, and admirers; now, therefore

WHEREAS BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth of March 2019, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Edward J. Filarski and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward J. Filarksi.
