WHEREAS, The Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 73; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Maywood and an influential force in Proviso Township politics for decades, the Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore was a former 7th District State Representative and Cook County Recorder of Deeds; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore graduated from Proviso East High School and was active in organizations in Maywood, including the Boys & Girls Club of West Cook County and the John C. Vaughn Scholarship Fund; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore ably served for six years as a member of the Illinois House in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, In 1999 the Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore succeeded Jesse White as Cook County Recorder of Deeds, an office which oversees records for properties, including mortgage, sales and foreclosure notices; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore served as Proviso Township Democratic Committeeman and mentored other political hopefuls from the Maywood area; and

WHEREAS, Following a long and highly distinguished career in government, the Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore retired from office in 2012; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Eugene "Gene" Moore was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
