CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO MR. DENNIS SEXTON ON RETIREMENT FROM THE CARPENTERS UNION LOCAL 13
WHEREAS, Dennis Sexton has announced his retirement as Vice President of the Carpenters Union Local 13; and
WHEREAS, A life-long Chicagoan, Denny is a graduate of Washburne Trade School and a 51-year-member of Carpenters Union Local 13; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his long and distinguished career, Denny's priorities were to the members of Local 13. His determination and talent were recognized and led to increasingly prominent positions including, Apprentice Coordinator, from 1987 to 19941 former Trustee for Local 13;
WHEREAS; Elected delegate to the Regional Council in 1975, appointed assistant to the President/Lobbyist in 1994, and elected vice president of Local 13 in 2002, Denny served in all three capacities until his retirement; and
WHEREAS, As a valued member of the Local 13, Denny's influence is extensive and his record of service is impressive. His hard work, commitment and dedication to his job have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His presence and guidance will be sorely missed; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fourteenth day of October, 2015 A.D., do hereby express our gratitude and our heartiest congratulations to Dennis Sexton and we extend our very best wishes for his continued success and fulfillment; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Dennis Sexton.
