Resolution
Whereas, Maria Eugenia Xiques, age 56, departed this present life on February 16, 2014; and
Whereas, The City Council has been notified of her passing by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman of the 48th Ward; and
Whereas, Maria Eugenia Xiques was the beloved wife of Mark Lepko, Loving mother of Michael Brandon Consago, stepmother of Christopher Mark and Chelsea Elizabeth Lepko. Daughter of Julia (the late Alberto) Xiques. Dear sisters of Julie, Albert and John.
Whereas, Maria Eugenia Xiques was born in Camaguey, Cuba. She was three years old when a dozen members of her family fled the country in July, 1961. She was a small business owner and opened Upper Cuts in January, 1997. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day of April 2, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Maria Eugenia Xiques and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
