RESOLUTION HONORING ANTHONY "TONY" NOGLY ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE 43rd WARD STREETS AND SANITATION DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Anthony "Tony" Nogly has worked in the 43ra Ward's Department of Streets and Sanitation for 33 years helping maintain this high profile neighborhood as one of the cleanest and most admired in the city; and
WHEREAS, Tony was born on May 21, 1959 at Grant Hospital to Anna & Miroslav Nogly and lived in Lincoln Park his entire childhood until he was an adult; and
WHEREAS, Tony married Joy Gercken on March 6,1981 at St. Teresa's Church and have raised 2 sons Ian Anton and Ben Eric Nogly who were also baptized at St. Teresa's; and
WHEREAS, Tony worked his first big snow storm during the blizzard of 1979, and continued for the snow storm of 1999, and his last big snow storm was the blizzard of 2011; and
WHEREAS, Tony knows the 43rd Ward's streets, alleys, businesses and residences like, the back of his hand and is one of the most effective Streets and Sanitation coordinators in the City and sadly for the ward will retire on June 30, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City Chicago, gathered here this 4th Day of May, 2011, do hereby offer our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Anthony "Tony" Nogly on the occasion of his retirement; and we extend to this fine citizen and his family our very best wishes for continuing success and fulfillment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Anthony "Tony" Nogly.
