ORDERED, That the Director of Revenue is hereby authorized and directed to issue the following licenses and permits, free of charge to Merchandise Mart Properties Incorporated, for the special event "One of a Kind Show and Sale" scheduled to take place on December 2-5, 2010 between the hours of 9:00a.m. and 6:00p.m. at 222 Merchandise Mart Plaza.
Tent and Canopy Permits, Itinerant Merchant License Fees and Temporary Food Vendor Licenses Fees, Special Event Permit, Street Closure Permit, and all other permits and fees related to this event

Dear Alderman Reilly:
As you may know, our annual One of a Kind Show and Sale® will be taking place at the Merchandise Mart, December 2-5, 2010. This major event has received sponsorships and partnerships with several civic groups and charitable organizations, including Children's Memorial Hospital, After School Matters/Gallery 37, Marwen, Susan G. Komen Foundation and The National Multiple Sclerosis Society to name a few.
The One of a Kind Show and Sale® also boasts over 550 artist exhibitors. The products featured by the artists are truly "one of a kind" and therefore this event draws over 50,000 attendees to the show and to the City of Chicago the first weekend.in December. The exhibitors are required to obtain an itinerant merchant license for this special event: We greatly appreciated all of your efforts in previous years to waive the fees associated with the license. We are asking again for your help this year to waive the itinerant merchant license fees.
