TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF MURRY W. TUBBS

 

WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, has granted Murry W. Tubbs, an outstanding citizen and member of the community to her everlasting reward on Wednesday, September 16, 2015; and

 

WHEREAS, Murry W. Tubbs was born to the blessed union of the late Frank and Mattie Lou Williams on November 2, 1941 in Akron, Alabama. She was a member of Saint Paul CME Church. She graduated high school and college in Alabama. Murry moved to Chicago and furthered her education and received her Masters from Roosevelt University; and

 

WHEREAS, Murry W. Tubbs will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character will live on in those who knew and loved her; and

 

WHEREAS, Murry W. Tubbs leaves to mourn her loss, celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her two sisters, Everlena Morris (Anthony) and Ellen Taylor (Issac); her four daughters, Melynda Chester (Peter), Tanya N. Tubbs, Tiajuana M. Tubbs and Edna S. Tubbs; her son, Christopher Tubbs; six grandchildren, Sedrick, Sherita, Jessica, Shanyce, Leah and Joseph; two great grandchildren, D-Mario and Makenzye and a host of other relatives and many friends. Murry's loving husband, Eddie G. Tubbs, her parents, Frank and Mattie Lou Williams, four sisters and her brother preceded her in death; and

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman ofthe 8th Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics, has informed this august body of the passing of this admirable and noble citizen; now therefore

 

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 14th day of October 2015 A.D., do hereby express our sincere sorrow at the passing of Murry W. Tubbs and extend our deepest condolence to her family, friends and people whose lives she touched.

 

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Murry W. Tubbs.
