RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF AN EXTRAORDINARY MAN BISHOP CLAUDE ODELL TIMMONS
WHEREAS, Claude Odell Timmons was born on February 4, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to the parents of the late Coleman and Marguerite Timmons; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Timmons was educated in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Forrestville Grammar School for two years, Coleman Grammar School for six years, Dunbar Trade High School for three years, and Kennedy King College for two years; and
WHEREAS, he served in the Armed Forces for two years from July 15, 1958 - July 15, 1960. When his duty was completed, he left the army holding the rank of Corporal; and
WHEREAS, in the early years of his youth, Claude Timmons accepted Jesus Christ into his life as his personal savior. He learned very early in life the lessons of faithfulness and commitment; and
WHEREAS, he served diligently in various churches: Greater Harvest Baptist Church for six years under Rev. Louis Boddie, Robert's Temple COGIC for nine years under Bishop W. M. Roberts and Elder E. J. Duncan, Faith Temple COGIC for one year under Bishop Goldsberry, and finally Monument of Faith Evangelistic Church for twenty-one and a half years where he served as a deacon and psalmist under the leadership of Apostle Richard D. Henton; and
WHEREAS, he founded and established the Love Cathedral Community Church, and on April 7, 1985, the doors of the church were opened. Deacon Timmons became Pastor Claude Odell Timmons; and
WHEREAS, in 1990, he was led to join the organization of Pilgrim Assemblies International, Incorporated (PAI), in New York City, under the leadership of Bishop Roy E. Brown. In April 1991, he became District Elder over the Illinois Jurisdiction. Three years later, God again elevated him to the Office of Bishop in April 1994, over the state of Illinois known as the Rehoboth Jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Timmons is married to Evangelist Jacqueline Fowler, formerly of New York City, who faithfully served her pastor Bishop Bro...
