MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR MARY CELESTE STANTON
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Mary Celeste Stanton on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 89; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 28, 1927, Mary Celeste was the beloved wife of the late Harold T. Stanton, Captain, C.P.D., ret.; loving mother of Sheila (Larry) Marshall, Eileen (Robert) Quinn, Colleen (the late William) Quinlan, Terry (Emmett DDS) Grady, Patrick (Mary Ann), Peggy (Mike) Schmit, Celeste (Kevin) Alcock, Noreen (Chris) Janson, Michael (Lisa), Daniel (Sheila), and late infant Michael T.; cherished grandmother of forty two; proud great-grandmother of ten; dear sister of the late Gloria (the late Robert) Sutter; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mary Celeste leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Mary Celeste touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, generosity and vivacious spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this eleventh day of October, 2017, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Mary Celeste Stanton and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
