CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO MARILYN AND IRV NAIDITCH ON RECEIVING AJC 'S 2017 LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP A WARD
WHEREAS, Marilyn and Irv Naiditch will be honored with the American Jewish Committee's Legacy of Leadership Award for their service to Israel, the Jewish people, and the betterment of their fellow man during the 2017 AJC Award Dinner on Sunday, April 2 in Sarasota Florida; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this honor by Alderman Margaret Laurino; and
WHEREAS, Irv Naiditch's professional life began in the fields of construction, real estate development and banking. He went on to pioneer the microwave oven with Raytheon Co. and establish Royal Industries, one of the largest national food service companies distributing cooking and service utensils to the restaurant/hospitality industry; and
WHEREAS, As the couple's daughters began growing up, Marilyn became active with Irv in business, investments and charitable endeavors. Their youngest daughter founded an international organization for families whose members are affected with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. One of Marilyn's greatest rewards was creating a support network for thousands of such families; and
WHEREAS, Marilyn and Irv's desire to help others led them to become significant supporters or board members of many organizations, including (but not limited to) AJC, Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago and Sarasota, Boys Town Jerusalem, Catholic Charities, City of Hope, G-WIZ, Israel Tennis Centers, JFCS, The Jewish Housing Council, Kobernick and Technion; and
WHEREAS, Both Marilyn and Irv feel blessed to soon celebrate their 71st anniversary in good health with their cherished children, grandchildren, and six great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, With their life-long belief in and commitment to human rights, Marilyn and Irv have been dedicated AJC Board Members for years. They feel passionately that in these tumultuous times, AJC is needed now more than ever to help cross humanitarian barrier...
