RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Charles Brandon Williams, Jr. will soon retire from his position as pastor of Unity Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church after 30 years in service to his God, his church, and his community here in the City of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, This cause for celebration was brought to the attention of this esteemed body by the Honorable Alderman Jason Ervin of the 28th Ward, and

WHEREAS, Reverend Williams was born on January' 5, 1948 to parents Charles B. Williams and Lucinda Johnson-Williams, he developed into a lifelong learner and, in turn, teacher, who attended Wadsworth Elementary, Hyde Park High, Moody Bible Institute, Northeastern Illinois University, Bishop College in Dallas, Anderson Baptist Seminary of Camilla, Georgia, and Trinity Divinity School of Edinburg, Indiana, and even received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Arkansas Baptist College of Little Rock; and

WHEREAS. Reverend Williams's life's work will be most often remembered by his congregation at Unity Fellowship MB Church, he has served throughout his life in myriad roles such as being chaplain for the Cook County Department of Corrections, Executive Director of the World Christian Training Center, various roles with the National Baptist Congress and their Conventions, Secretary of the African American Religious Connection, as well as broadcasting over WPNA radio, and

WHEREAS, As a certified Lecturer of Evangelism, Reverend Williams has even spread his passion for the ministry by preaching in Israel and Jamaica, and has gifted his listeners with music through his singing and work on the keys of the piano and organ, and

WHEREAS, Displaying grace and humility that has no doubt served him well in his service to his community, Reverend Williams has said that, "God has invested talents, gifts, and abilities in me for the edifying and profiting of the saints to enhance their spiritual growth and bring them into the knowledge of Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives;" n...
