RESOLUTION FOR HARRY LU

 

WHEREAS, Mp Harry Lu will retire from the HMS Host Company after forty years of dedicated sendee on December 6, 2017. Mr. Lu is known for being a thoughtful and enthusiastic worker, truly setting an example of what it means to be a star employee; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Michael Zalewski, Alderman of the 23rd Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Lu began his career at the airports on April 1, 1978 as a Food and Beverage Supervisor; and

 

WHEREAS, During his many years of exemplary sendee, Mr. Lu was promoted many times, to roles including Food & Beverage Manager, Corporate Food & Beverage Auditor, Corporate Food & Beverage Standards, General Manager at several airports throughout the country. Mr. Lu retires as Senior Director of Operations at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, where he is responsible for over 1,400 employees and in excess of $210 million in annual sales; and

 

WHEREAS, In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Lu has been married to his loving wife, Margaret, for over forty-five years. Together the couple has three children, Jason, John and Diana; and five grandchildren; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Lu will be deeply missed by everyone at HMS Host Company and O'Hare Airport, his vast knowledge cannot be replaced; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this eighth day of November, 2017, do hereby extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Harry Lu for his many years of service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and
