RESOLUTION SALUTING FATHER IPZI STACHERCZAK
WHEREAS, The Reverenced Idzi Stacherczak will retire on July 1, 2020 as Pastor of St. Symphorosa Parish, located in Chicago's Clearing Neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman ofthe 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Father Idzi Stacherczak was born in Czestochowa, Poland on August 20, 1951 and is the youngest of 8 children. He was ordained a priest in Poland on May 18, 1975; and
WHEREAS, In 1983, Father Idzi Stacherczak was the founding Pastor for the faith community of Mary Mother of Mercy Parish in Poland; and
WHEREAS, Father Idzi came to the United States on February 9, 1993. He has served the Archdiocese of Chicago for twenty-seven years, first as the Assistant Pastor of St. Bruno, then as Pastor of St. Priscilla and lastly as Pastor of St. Syrnphorosa. He also serves as Assistant Executive Director of the Catholic lieague for Religious Assistance to Poland and Polania and as Chaplain to the Polish Highlanders; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twentieth day of May, 2020, do hereby join the St. Symphorosa community in wishing Father Idzi Stacherczak well wishes in his future endeavors and know that he will be an asset in whatever road he follows.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Father idzi Stacherczak as a sign of our respect and admiration for answering the call to lead the Catholic Community in Poland and Chicago through prayer and service.
