MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher, nee DeCarlo, born on August 20, 1929, was called by God to her eternal reward on December 8, 2012, at the age of 83; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher was an active and vital member of her community. The loving wife of William; beloved mother of Kevin (Maria) and Lynn (David Albee) Gallagher; dear grandmother of Lynn (Brodie Hacken), William, David and James Albee, Tony and Jack Gallagher; fond great-grandmother of Madelynn Hacken; treasured sister of Diane Rustand; cherished friend of many, Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher was co-owner of Gallagher Travel Service and in the travel business for over sixty-two years; and
WHEREAS, Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher was one of the original founders of the Albany Park Food Pantry; and
WHEREAS, Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twelfth day of December 2012, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Antoinette "Toni" Gallagher.
