MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF
ANNIE SANDIFER
WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called to eternal rest Annie Sandifer, who was an outstanding and beloved Chicago citizen and friend; and
WHEREAS, Annie was born in Prentiss, Mississippi on November 13,1910; and
WHEREAS, Annie was a Chicago resident, living at 5416 S. Dearborn Street, in Chicago's 3rd Ward and was an active member of the 3rd Ward community; and
WHEREAS, Annie was a parishioner and devout member of New Philadelphia Church Baptist, the venerable institution also located in the 3rd Ward; and
WHEREAS, Annie combined her love of the church with an unparalleled love of her family, choosing to remain at home as a housewife in order to care for her beloved children; and
WHEREAS, Annie, as we all know so well, loved fashion and shopping, and was always one of the sharpest dressers in the room; and
WHEREAS, Annie had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed gathering around a card table for a game; and
WHEREAS, Annie Sandifer leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her loving daughters, Vallie Rush and Patricia Cashaw and a host of other close relatives and many friends, neighbors and church members; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this 15th day of April, 2015, A.D., do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Annie Sandifer, recognize her many contributions to the City of Chicago and her community, and extend to his family our sincere condolences; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Annie Sandifer.
