CONGRATULATIONS TO LEE PRATTER
Whereas, Lee Pratter joined The Community Builders, Inc., a non-profit development group, on Nov. 10, 2003 and effectively served as senior development project manager for Oakwood Shores, a mixed-income housing development located in the Bronzeville Community, for 12 years; and
Whereas, Lee has served as a dedicated member of the Oakwood Shores working group maintaining effective communication and constructive dialogue with working group members and community stakeholders throughout her tenure; and
Whereas, Lee has provided distinguished service and fundraising support as a member of the University of Chicago Charter Schools Governing Board and was integral to realizing the Donaghue Charter School at Oakwood Shores; and
Whereas, with her dynamic personality and incredible vision, Lee led the development of 787 beautiful, high-quality rental homes for Chicago families of all ages and incomes; and
Whereas, Lee worked to fund and build more than 73,000 square feet of community and mixed-use space for Bronzeville residents; and
Whereas, Lee was instrumental in securing grants and partners for the one-day build of a Kaboom! state of the art playground at Oakwood Shores. She made invaluable contributions to the creation of the Arts and Rec Center at Ellis Park, including the area's first public pool; and
Whereas, Lee Pratter holds a Master Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Amherst College; and
Whereas, Lee Pratter, always in tune with the needs of the community, has made Chicago's 4th Ward a better place to live, work and play; and
Whereas, The Honorable William D. Burns, Alderman of the 4th Ward, has apprised this august body of Lee Pratter's exemplary achievements and accomplishments; now, therefore,
