MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
Whereas, Mr. Julian Bryant has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of eighty-five; and
Whereas, This august body has been informed of Mr. Julian Bryant's transition by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and
Whereas, Julian was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 21, 1932 to his loving parents Reather Bryant and Ruth Allen. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mitchell Grove Baptist Church in Cuthbert, Georgia. After migrating to Chicago, Julian moved his membership to Haven of Rest M.B. Church. He was a devoted and active member who participated joyously with the congregation. He was ordained a deacon and served as Chairman of the Deacons and Chairman of the February Birthday Circle; and
Whereas, Julian was a graduate of Wendell Phillips Evening School and attended various colleges. He graduated from Eulien Barber College and attended classes at Chicago Baptist Institute. Julian was employed by Thorek Memorial Hospital where he diligently worked for many years; and
Whereas, Julian served his country proudly in the United States Army and the National Guard, he also was an ex-boxer and earned the title, "Third Army Champion'; and
Whereas, In his long and productive life, Mr. Julian Bryant reached out and touched many people and was much loved by his family and community; and
Whereas, Mr. Julian Bryant was a warm and compassionate man, who gave selflessly of his time and energy to family members, friends, church members and neighbors alike. He will be sorely missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and joyful enthusiasm for life will live on in those who knew and loved him; and
Whereas, Mr. Julian Bryant leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Joan Bryant; daughter, Lynne Bryant; grandson, Victor Gavin, Jr.; brothers, Reather, Jr. and Frank, Sr.; great granddaughter, Olivia Gavin; a host of other rel...
