RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Terry Glover has gone to her eternal reward at the age of fifty-seven; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Bronzeville, Terry Glover was a widely admired member of the journalism community and the devoted wife of Kendall; and
WHEREAS, Terry Glover was the much-adored mother of Parri and Maya; and
WHEREAS, Born in Indianapolis, Terry Glover attended high school in St. Louis before coming to Chicago to attend Northwestern University; and
WHEREAS, Terry Glover earned a master's degree in journalism from Roosevelt University and served as staff and in freelance roles for publications such as Uptown and Savoy magazines; and
WHEREAS, Terry Glover also helped to spearhead the founding of The Black Harvest Film Festival which brought to Chicago films from countries like Ghana, Great Britain, Haiti and Nigeria; and
WHEREAS, Terry Glover joined Ebony Magazine in 2006 and was named Managing Editor in 2009; and
WHEREAS, A woman of dignity, grace and charm, Terry Glover was an exceptional editor and a dear friend to many; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Terry Glover serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Terry Glover imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of January, 2013, do hereby commemorate Terry Glover for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
