RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Reverend Joseph P. Lynch has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 88; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Joseph P. Lynch was a widely admired member of the religious community and the Pastor Emeritus of St. Albert the Great Church; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Joseph P. Lynch was the devoted son of the late James (C.P.D.) and Florence, nee Healy, and the dear brother of John and the late James, Mary Ann, Norine, Florence and Rita; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Joseph P. Lynch was ordained on May 1, 1953 and gave generously of himself to others throughout his priestly life; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Joseph P. Lynch served as an Associate Pastor at St. Gabriel, St. Barbara, St. Agnes, St. Albert the Great, Holy Redeemer, St. Thomas More and St. Christina parishes; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Reverend Joseph P. Lynch serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Joseph P. Lynch will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and former parishioners; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Reverend Joseph P. Lynch imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twentieth day of May, 2015, do hereby commemorate the Reverend Joseph P. Lynch for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Reverend Joseph P. Lynch.
