RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Joseph P. "Bench" Spicka has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 57 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Joseph P. Spicka, loving father of Jennah Spicka (Brycten Head) and James "JJ" Hall; cherished brother of Stephen Bocck (late), Terry Hughes, Ronald.Boeck (late), John Spicka, his late twin sister Edith Spicka, Ethel Carpi, and Carrie Spicka (late); also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, and Jennifer Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ethel Patterson Spicka; and
WHEREAS, Joseph enjoyed spending time calling his family and friends throughout the day. His family described him as kind-hearted and had a great sense of humor. "He wasn't the life of the party...he WAS the party!"; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to: the fullest endeared Joseph to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; how, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty first of April 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Joseph P. Spicka and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph P. Spicka.
