TRIBUTE TO JOHN S. GAC SR.
WHEREAS, In His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has granted eternal rest to John S. Gac Sr. an outstanding citizen and member of his community; and
WHEREAS, John S. Gac Sr. was one ofthe ever so important volunteers at the Archer Manor Little League. This league has been providing the local area youth the opportunity to learn and play America's favorite pastime since 1957. The support of the community is an essential part in operating this league; and
WHEREAS, John S. Gac Sr. was a senior citizen who has been volunteering with the league since his grandson began playing for Archer Manor 15 years ago. He continued to volunteer even after his grandson no longer played for the league and also took care of the fields at Archer Park; and
WHEREAS, John S. Gac Sr. was an extremely dedicated and hard-working man who could be counted on to have the fields ready for a game regardless of the weather. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends at the Archer Manor Little League; and
WHEREAS, In order to commemorate John's spirit of giving to the league, community, and the Chicago Park District, Archer Manor Little League has requested an honorary street sign to recognize him and his family at the intersection of 49th and Kilbourn; and
WHEREAS; This august body has been informed of the passing of John S. Gac Sr. by the Honorable Michael R. Zalewski Alderman of the 23rd Ward who has introduced legislation for a sign at 49th and Kilbourn dedicated in his loving memory; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED; That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City of Chicago City Council, assembled on this 13th Day of April AD, do hereby express our sincere sorrow at the passing of John S. Gac Sr. and extend our deepest condolences to his family and. all those whose lives he touched.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of John S. Gac Sr.
