MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR THOMAS BREWER
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the death of Thomas Brewer on June 2, 2017 at the age of 96; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on May 13, 1921, Thomas was the devoted husband of the late Mary (nee Flannery) Brewer; cherished father of Thomas Jr., Maureen, the late William (Sylvia) and Ann (Dave) Scrivano; loving grandfather of Bridget (Tracie) Baker, Joseph (Liz) Duhn, William, Mendy, Lindy, and Emmy Brewer; dear great grandfather to Evelyn Baker-Moore and Kiernan Duhn; beloved son of the late Mary and William Brewer; fond sister to Gerri Spisak and the late Frank, Betty Goar, Rose Kelcher, Bill (Bud), Helen, Leona, and Paul (Skip); and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Thomas leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love and
WHEREAS, Thomas touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and vivacious spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this 6th day of September, 2017, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Thomas Brewer; and
