WHEREAS, Chicago's parks are oases in the urban environment. They remind us of the wonders of nature and are places where our children can play and develop; and
WHEREAS, There are numerous benefits to having children spend more time playing in the park. This activity can help develop a greater sense of community among the children, parents and supervisors. The resulting sense of community can help reduce crime. Furthermore, playing in the park promotes healthy behavior and can reduce obesity in children. Children also need free play time to develop their imaginations; and
WHEREAS, It is in the public interest to promote the concept of children playing in the park; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-eighth day of June, 2017, do hereby designate 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays as a time.^l^parents and relatives to take children to the

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That we hereby designate 10:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays as a time|^ day care providers and caregivers to take
