CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO BERGLUND'S ON IT'S 100th ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of the Chicago City Council has been informed of Berglund Construction Company's 100th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1911 on family core values of integrity and exemplary work ethic, Berglund Construction maintains a prominent professional presence as a General Contractor, Construction Manager, Design Builder, Facade Restoration Contractor and Historic Preservation Specialist within Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Ohio. The company was founded as a masonry maintenance business by Fred Berglund. His grandson now runs the company; and
WHEREAS, Berglund Construction, the century old company specializes in the restoration of stone, masonry, concrete and curtain wall structures. Preservation of some of the Midwest's architectural gems including schools, art museum, churches and office buildings have been done by Berglund Construction Company. The University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Draper and Kramer, and Andrew Corporation a just a few clients of Berglund Construction; and
WHEREAS, Berglund's received a Distinguished Building Award from Chicago Chapter ofthe American Institute of Architects and the Chicago Association of Commerce and Industry; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward has apprised this august body of this auspicious occasion; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago assembled here this fourth day of May, 2011 A.D., do hereby extend our congratulations to Berglund Construction Company on its 100th Anniversary and express our fervent best wishes for many more years of continuing success.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Berglund Construction Company.
