RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The City of Chicago recognizes, supports and promotes our prominent and less-well-known citizens, communities and attractions through the arts and media of our great City; and,
"""WHEREAS, the television "series "Wild Chicago" celebrates"its'25th""anniv"ersary of its"pYemierlariuar'y 6th, 1989 - a series that brought the stories of Chicagoans to a large and appreciative audience in our City and in the state of Illinois via the subsequent PBS series "Illinois Road Trip"; and,
WHEREAS, the Wild Chicago co-creators John Davies and Ben Hollis were innovators in documentary, entertainment and video techniques in Chicago, and with Emmy Awards and recognition of their peers, changed the medium of documentary, television and video techniques in ways now considered mainstream in a new era of Reality TV and YouTube; and,
WHEREAS, the accomplishments and innovations of the Wild Chicago producers, hosts, technicians and sponsors are preserved and presented to the local and national community through Chicago's own Museum of Broadcast Communications; and,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Mayor and members of the City Council of Chicago will celebrate Wild Chicago's success on this day of January 15, 2014 and declare January 6, 2014 Wild Chicago Day in celebration of this television program's positive and lasting impact on our City and its people.
