RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Warren Rudman has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of eighty-two; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Warren Rudman was a former Senator from New Hampshire and the loving husband of Shirley Wahl; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Warren Rudman served in the United States Senate from 1980 to 1993; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Warren Rudman co-authored a landmark budget-balancing act and led a commission that predicted the dangers of terrorist attacks before September 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS, A native of Boston, Massachusetts, the Honorable Warren Rudman lived for almost all of his life in New Hampshire and served in the United States Army during the Korean War; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Warren Rudman was a graduate of Syracuse University and Boston College Law School; and
WHEREAS, Following his esteemed tenure in public service, the Honorable Warren Rudman served as an attorney and was a Co-Chair of the Albright Stonebridge Group; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Warren Rudman serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, The Honorable Warren Rudman imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twelfth day of December, 2012, do hereby commemorate The Honorable Warren Rudman for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of The Honorable Warren Rudrrian.
